A sunny afternoon, a stunning Norfolk venue and an incredible couple, Emma and Ian’s wedding at Worstead Estate was lovely to play for. From an emotional indoor ceremony to a joyful drinks reception in the sunshine and a high energy wedding breakfast entrance, it was a pleasure to bring the sax to such a beautiful celebration.
It was also lovely to be part of the rehearsal the day before, a great chance to meet the team, walk through the ceremony and get a real feel for the day ahead. Huge credit to Marie and the amazing team at Worstead Estate for keeping everything running smoothly and creating such a relaxed and welcoming atmosphere.
Emma made her entrance in the Thatched Barn to ‘How Long Will I Love You’ by Ellie Goulding, sung by the brilliant Sam Richardson (a friend of the couples), while I played from the back of the barn. During the signing, I added sax to ‘Can’t Help Falling In Love’, ‘Wildest Dreams’ and ‘Your Song’, three absolute ceremony favourites.
The newlyweds made their exit to ‘This Will Be (An Everlasting Love)’ before heading into a confetti aisle moment on the patio. From there, the drinks reception kicked off with a mix of 80s and 90s throwbacks and laid back classics, perfect for that summer garden vibe. A beautiful Norfolk wedding.
@alexrimellsax Loved playing Wildest Dreams by Taylor Swift throughout the signing of the register at a recent wedding. 🎶 #Wedding #Sax #Saxophone #TaylorSwift #WildestDreams ♬ original sound – alexrimellsax
The final sax moment? Welcoming Emma and Ian into their wedding breakfast with ‘Jubel’ as the napkins started spinning, a proper party starter!
It was an absolute joy to be part of this gorgeous celebration with two such lovely people. Emma & Ian, thank you for having me along for the ride. Wishing you both a lifetime of happiness (and many more musical memories to come!)
