A relaxed Suffolk barn wedding, sunshine, canapés and live sax setting the tone for the afternoon celebrations.
Ebony & Pete’s wedding at Bateman’s Barn was set on a beautiful sunny afternoon in May. Guests enjoying the sunshine, music flowing through the venue and the atmosphere building naturally throughout the afternoon.
I performed from 3:45pm – 5:45pm during the drinks reception while guests mingled and started the celebrations.
This booking actually started a couple of years earlier when Ebony & Pete first heard me play at Hannah & Tom’s wedding.
From their first message, they already had a clear vision for the vibe they wanted:
“We absolutely loved all of your set at Hannah & Tom’s wedding so a similar vibe…”
And honestly, it suited the setting perfectly.
The music throughout the drinks reception blended feel-good classics, soulful singalongs and laid-back favourite. This worked beautifully for a sunny afternoon wedding.
Tracks like Signed, Sealed, Delivered, You’ve Got The Love and Just The Two Of Us helped create that relaxed but upbeat atmosphere, while songs like I’ll Be There For You and American Pie brought some fun, nostalgic moments into the set.
It was one of those afternoons where the music naturally became part of the atmosphere rather than overpowering it, exactly what you want during a drinks reception.
The drinks reception is often one of the most social parts of the day.
It’s where guests properly relax after the ceremony, conversations start flowing and the energy of the day really begins to build. Live music fills the space in a way that completely changes the atmosphere, creating a celebration that feels alive from the very beginning.
Ebony & Pete’s wedding was the perfect reminder that you don’t always need a huge evening party moment to create an incredible atmosphere.
Sometimes great music, sunshine, good people and a beautiful venue are all you need. Looking for this vibe on your wedding day? Get in touch!
